今日は久しぶりに妻とニューキャッスルホテルでお昼を頂きました。息子は良く行っているようですが私は本当に久しぶりです。
ホテルのメインダイニングは落ち着いた雰囲気がいいですね。普段は忙しくて話もあまり出来ないのですが今日はゆっくり食事をしながらいろいろなことを話しました。
前菜はサーモンと蝦のタルタル。手前の緑の野菜は芋類の茎だそうです。さっぱりした味と上に載ったチョリソーで良い口直しになります。
南瓜のスープはスパイシーな香辛料が浮いていて意外性のある味の組み合わせが良かった。
メインはオーソドックスですが牛ほほ肉マデラソースにフォアグラが添えてあり、コクのある美味しさです。魚料理にもホタテとフォアグラを合わせてあるのが良い取り合わせで魚料理にボリュームを付けて満足感が高くなりました。
今日は凍ったパイナップルに固いプリンが載った感じのデザートで酸味と冷たさが意外ではあるけれど納得する組み合わせで感心しました。お店を出るときにシェフさんが出てきて見送ってくれましたがずいぶん若い方なので驚きました。若い人が実力を見せてくれると気分がいいですね。
