国産レモン産地一番、そのレモンを使ったケーキGOTO日帰りバスツアー「瀬戸内しまなみ街道７橋を渡る情景」、バスは井口島に立ち寄り昼食、その後は耕三寺博物館で自由散策。
時間も余ったので食べログ×現在地をタップしたら、こちらが出てきました。平山郁夫美術館近くで少し離れてますが行ってみました。
今居る瀬戸田町は日本一のレモンの産地です。歩いている途中でもレモン販売している個人店も沢山。
その日本一レモン収穫の、その自慢のレモンを使ったスィーツが並んでいます。
店内のショーケースには、焼きたてのレモンケーキ、シュークリームが並んでます。
自宅用と別にすぐ食べたいと言えば食べ歩き用にそのまま手渡し。
広島定番のレモンケーキと言えばホワイトチョコレートでコーティングされていますが、こちらはスポンジのまま。
そのためレモンの酸味ではなく香りを楽しめます。香り成分を逃がさないための重要な工程が丁寧に果皮を切り取ることです。手作業でしかできない手間を重ねることで、レモンの香りと旨みを最大限に引き出されているとか。
レモンが爽やかなスポンジ、果肉も入っててさっぱりとした後口。
しまった、こんなに美味しければもう少し購入しておけばよかった！
