生口島から船で尾道に戻りましょう。
この土地では船が日常生活の足として定着しており、加えて観光で来るサイクリストも多いので、島々を渡る船には自転車を積み込む事が出来るという有り難さ。
波止場で船を待つ間にレモン成分を補給しようと画策。
港の目の前にあるお土産もの屋さんの奥に食堂兼喫茶店があって。
そこでちょっと一息。

レモンスカッシュには、某社開発のレモン味の炭酸氷が使われており、氷自体がパチパチチリチリとする趣向で面白い。
ネットニュースなどで読んでこの氷のことは知っていたけれど、実際に食べるのは初めて。
こういうお店で使われているのかぁ。
空気が沢山含まれているせいで炭酸氷が全部上に上がって来るのだというのも、頭で考えれば分かるんだけど。
実際に頼んでみると、おお！やはりそうか！という、夏休みの自由研究的なる好奇心を満たす満足感があったな。
生口島は国産レモンの28%を生産する瀬戸内レモン生産の本拠地。
レモンの島に敬意を表しつつ、爽やかなレモンの香りと味わいを堪能。
アップダウンのある行程を必死に自転車漕いで疲れた身体にレモンが染み渡る心地良さ。
