Enjoy okonomiyaki made with carefully selected ingredients such as pork from Yamaguchi Prefecture and eggs from Kurose in a stylish space.
A high ceiling with a vaulted ceiling. Concrete walls and wooden chairs and tables create a stylish cafe-style okonomiyaki and teppanyaki restaurant! Our recommended Sanosuke-yaki and okonomiyaki are |
The restaurant's name, "Kenshin," is obviously named after the latest popular Japanese movie, and the owner is probably a big fan of "Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story," which is easy to guess from the menu. Personally, I'm very interested in the "Sanosuke Yaki," which is loaded with 220g of thickly sliced meat, but the "Kenshin Yaki," named after the main character, Kenshin, is probably the signature dish. It's made of Seafood and cheese, and I don't really like cheese on Okonomiyaki, so I thought, "Hmm (`Д´)," for a moment, but the "Tomato & Cheese" I had at "Momo" in Kure City last time was amazing, so I decided to have it this time without the cheese. Furthermore, the difference between the special and deluxe seems to be whether or not it has green onion topping, so I chose the expensive deluxe with double soba noodles. Soon, the "Kenshin Deluxe" was brought to me. It was surprisingly small, and it was neatly placed on the hot plate. It looked very carefully cooked, and the cross section was beautiful. This is my favorite type of Okonomiyaki, where the ingredients themselves aren't seasoned too much. There's an occasional hint of garlic powder, which gives it a light taste in a good way☆ However, as I worried, the cheese stands out a little in terms of taste and aroma. This is an issue with the brand and type of cheese, and is in no way the restaurant's fault... I thought I would take advantage of the free mayonnaise, but unfortunately it didn't go well with the cheese either. ...I should have just left out the cheese after all (^^;) Also, I was told that the noodles used were fresh noodles from Daiei Foods, but they tasted like boiled noodles. Not that I'm saying it was particularly bad, but I didn't really get the firmness and flavor that you expect from fresh noodles. Well, Daiei's noodles are tasty enough even when boiled (lol) In This Corner of the World ☆ rating ★☆☆☆☆
