北海道の大手菓子店のひとつ北菓楼の札幌本館。
当館は1926年に建てられた旧・北海道庁立図書館が2016年に建築家の安藤忠雄氏の設計で生まれ変わりました。
建物の外観はほぼ当時のままで、中に入ると１階は吹き抜けが開放的な物販エリア。
バウムクーヘンなど北菓楼のお菓子を販売しています。
奥にある歴史丸出しの階段を上ると２階がカフェになっております。
白を基調とした店内はレンガ造りの窓から陽光が照らし、壁一面が書架になっていて元図書館だったことを主張します。
客席側の本棚の本は自由に読むことができ、子供向けの絵本なども多数あります。
さて、ごはん。
●ホタテカレー（1,283円）
意外とピリッとスパイシーな美味しいカレー。
ホタテの貝柱、ヒモ、肝まで余すことなく入っています。
付け合わせの野菜がミックスベジタブルみたいなやつなのはちょっと寂しい。
●野付のホタテのスパゲティ（1,210円）
こちらもホタテたっぷり。
●いちごパフェ（950円）
イチゴ、ブルーベリー、ラズベリーとベリー三昧。
クリームやアイスも美味しい。
ホールの店員さんは２人しかおらず度々奥に引っ込んだりするので、呼びたいときはちょっと大変。
人気のカフェなので常に並んでいます。
カフェは11時からですが、物販は10時開店なので10時に入店して予約の記帳をしておくのがオススメ。
