After the Sapporo Lilac Festival, I had lunch at Natural Food Dining LOHAS, a natural food and 100% buckwheat noodle restaurant that I had researched beforehand. The restaurant was located at the west end of Tanukikoji. The exterior of the restaurant. It seems to be located on the first floor of Hotel Bougainvillea. Menu outside the restaurant. It seems to be reasonably priced, but I think it would be more expensive in Tokyo. Inside the restaurant. It looks like a hotel bar that was renovated. I was able to enter the restaurant at a good time, but after that, quite a few customers came in and the restaurant was about 80% full. On this day, I first had the lunch set ``Vegetable Gapao Rice made with soy meat'', 1,640 yen. Then, the lunch set ``LOHAS homemade curry with slowly simmered onions'', 1,640 yen. I also added ``Hokkaido Horonai 100% buckwheat noodle'' as a single item for 870 yen. The soba came on the same tray, so it looks a bit strange (^_^;) But when I actually tried it... The veggie gapao rice was seasoned, so it didn't taste like soy meat, and I could eat it without any discomfort, but what impressed me most was the raw nut veggie Sushi. "The nuts were soaked overnight and made into a paste, which was then used as rice and topped with vegetables." The nuts had a new, chewy texture, and the flavor of the seaweed was also prominent, so much so that even as I was writing this, I was thinking about eating it again. As the name suggests, LOHAS' homemade curry was full of stewed onions, which made it sweet overall. Personally, I prefer my curry to be a little spicy... The fresh deep-fried vegetables and the round protrusion at the bottom right of the photo below are soy burgers, and I think they went well with the sweetness of the roux. The 100% buckwheat soba from Horonai, Hokkaido, exceeded my expectations in a good way. Even though it is not a soba specialty restaurant, I was able to enjoy soba that was firm, smooth, and easy to swallow. Is it because of the water from Hokkaido? It didn't get soggy while I was eating it, and it went well with the spicy soba soup (made from bonito and kelp, which can also be made vegan). I thought I made a mistake by not ordering a large portion, but it was about 1.5 pieces more than the normal amount. Oh, I didn't know this, but Hokkaido produces 40% of soba in Japan. For dessert, I had a set of two kinds of raw sweets. "Raw Donuts Pistachio" and "5 Raw Truffle Chocolate" for 980 yen. The texture was not as mushy as other Donuts, and the pistachio sauce had a strong flavor, making it quite delicious. As expected, Chocolate didn't taste very truffle-like and was a little hard, but it was hard to believe that it was made without sugar or dairy products, so I think it's a good choice for those who are concerned about the ingredients. I think it would be more expensive to get the same thing in Tokyo, and it felt more like I was enjoying something healthy rather than refraining from eating something healthy. I don't know if I'll have another chance, but I'd like to visit again. Continued in Part 5
