初めて行くカレー屋では辛さのチョイスが悩みどころだ。
何段階あるか？無料と有料があるか？が大きな分かれ道だが、５段階で無料のみの店が最も多いだろうか？この場合、初見なら４番が私のセオリーだ。４番を頼んだ時に、店員が何か囁いた。日本語が微妙なため、よく聞き取れなかったが、どうもすごく辛いという意味のことを言われた気がした。しかし、どうせ分からないので、そこはスルーした。
頼んだのはサンライズスペシャルセット。恐らく店のイチオシと思われる。出てきたセットを見て、驚いた。デカい！多い！食べきれなさそう、、、カレー2種類の場合、少なめで普通だが、ルーの方はともかく、スープのがイメージよりかなりデカい。ナンもデカいし、コレでラッシーまで着いて1600円は他店と比べると量的にはお得だ。しかし、コレは残すな、、、た最初から諦めた。となれば、残したくないものから行くのが定石。スープよりはルー。ナンよりご飯。最初はサラダから初めて、タンドリーチキンを攻める。こういう所のこういうセットのサラダと言えば、通常は出来合いのカットサラダが既に主流だが、ここのサラダは店でカットしたか、そうでなくても少し良いサラダだ。変色もないし、塩素臭もしない。普通に美味しかった。タンドリーチキンはもちろん美味い。２個有るのも嬉しい。カレー本体は、スープカレーの野菜だけをつまみながら、ルーカレーとライスを優先して、ライスが切れてからナンで頂き、ルーカレーが切れてスープという順番。ルーカレーは辛かったが、何とかセーフの範囲。他の店に比べると一段階辛い印象だ。そして、スープカレーは、更に辛い。コレで４か！辛すぎた。次は３にしておこう。
あと細かいことだが、箸が有るのは嬉しい。サラダはフォークより橋の方が食べやすいし、スープカレーの野菜も箸の方がつかみやすい。
