A soba restaurant where you can casually enjoy Hokkaido-made 28% buckwheat noodles, a la carte dishes with dashi stock, and Japanese sake
Soba and Cuisine Seguchi is located in a location that is easily accessible by car and train. The restaurant has a white exterior, with a large white shop curtain with the character "Se" written in bl |
Wanting to eat more of the soba at the first soba shop, Jo-san, I went to the second soba shop, Seguchi-san, which serves soba and other dishes. I walked south from Hiragishi Station, thinking that I was nearing the right spot, but I couldn't find any signs for the shop, so I started to feel anxious. Then, I discovered Seguchi-san, standing between two buildings!! I had imagined a slightly larger building, so it was a bit surprising. I immediately went inside the restaurant. The restaurant has a vertical layout, with four four-seat tables and four counter seats in the back, making it a more spacious restaurant than you would imagine from the outside. I already knew what I wanted to eat here, so I ordered a mixed bowl of soba (Nihachi and Juwari) as soon as I sat down. In about five minutes, a slightly small mixed bowl of soba noodles was brought to me. The strainer itself is smaller than average, so the amount of soba seems less, but the strainer is deep, so it is more voluminous than it looks. The short soba noodles, typical of 100% soba, have a unique firmness and go down smoothly. The Nihachi has a more gritty texture than the 100% soba, making it a delicious soba that is fun to eat. The soba soup is slightly thick and spicy, but it blends well with the soba and is delicious. I had very delicious soba at both restaurants today, and it was a very satisfying lunch! Thank you for the meal!
