[7 minutes walk from Otaru Station] Enjoy fine Japanese sake with soba noodle snacks such as Tempura.
We are proud of our "Jyuwari Soba" noodles, which are made using a special method. The noodles are elastic, firm, and easy to eat. In addition to soba noodles, we also serve "soba-ya no atte" such as |
I'm in Otaru. I was strolling along the canal and got hungry, so I went into this soba restaurant that I had checked out. There was jazz playing in the background at a decent volume. There were three seats at the counter and three four-seater tables, and the restaurant was smaller than I thought it would be from the outside. There was one woman in her 40s serving customers, and I could hear another woman in the kitchen in the back. When I sat down, bancha tea was brought to me. Water was placed at the end of the counter, and I took a look at the self-service menu! I'm sure I bookmarked it as it was a soba restaurant with good prices, but I guess they raised the prices, so it doesn't feel like much of a bargain... I ordered "One bowl of 100% buckwheat soba in a bamboo steamer" (650 yen), which was brought to me 8 minutes after I ordered. The soba was firm and smooth, but perhaps the draining was a little weak, as there was water left on top of the strainer after I finished eating. The flavor and aroma of the soba was weak, and it was the first time I had eaten this type of 100% buckwheat soba. The soba soup had a nice bonito flavor and was mellow and sweet, while the soba soup was thick and cloudy, which is my favorite type, but unfortunately the portion was very small. My companion ordered "Cold Tanuki Soba" (850 yen), which was topped with tempura flakes and wakame seaweed, and cost an extra 200 yen in a bamboo steamer... Thank you for the meal, "Kitakachian".
