Go to "Oumiya" located under the elevated railway on the east side of JR Sannomiya Station. I prefer this store on the 2nd floor to restaurant north of the station. The spacious tatami seats, reminiscent of Ryokan 's banquet hall, and the occasional clanking sound of a train passing directly above create an indescribably popular atmosphere. There was a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option (2,250 yen including tax), so I decided to snack on this as a base. The sashimi is delicious, the oden and skewers are cheap, and most of the so-called Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) menu items are available. This is a great place to stay when you want to sit down and have a good time near the station.
