1946年に開店した喫茶店「K.Y.K」を源流とする関西の老舗トンカツチェーン。
公式サイトによれば：
「KYKは、当社の経営理念である「心と味でおもてなし」の英訳「Keep You Kindly」の頭文字を表しています。しかし、これは後から付けたもので、実際は、創業時の昭和21年に瓦町洋裁研究所（Kawaramachi Yousai Kenkyusho）という洋裁店から創業の地として土地を譲り受けた感謝の意味を込めて、その頭文字を屋号として使用したのが真の由来です」
だそう。正直「keep you kindly」はよくわからない英文だし（英語にこんな言い方はない）、「心と味でおもてなし」の英訳というのは無理があるなあ。オリジナルのままでいいのでは。まあ、いいけど。
さんちか店が最初なので、神戸発祥のチェーンということになる。
国産ロースとんかつ膳140g1260円
3サイズあり。真ん中のものです。ご飯、味噌汁、香の物が付き、ご飯、キャベツ、味噌汁はおかわり自由。
10分ほど待って配膳。例によって一切れは横にされている。もっとも、最近のネオとんかつとは違うので、ほのかにピンクを残す程度。自分の感覚だとベストの火入れですが・・・最近はとんかつも、さらにはラーメンのチャーシューまでもピンク、ピンク、ピンクで食傷気味。むしろ、安心します。
ソースは一種類。ご時世か、からしが小袋で置かれているのはやや興を削ぐが、仕方ない。
とんかつは旨いですね。飛び抜けたものはありませんが、やはりそこは専門店の味。しっかりと旨いです。衣はザクッとしたタイプで好み。肉も値段を考えればなかなかに柔らかい。変な脂はなく、胸焼けもしません。
キャベツは繊細な切り。クリームとゴマの二種類のドレッシング。
キノコと青物の煮物の小鉢。綺麗に並べられた香の物。
お値段を考えれば良いのではないでしょうか。CPいいと思います。気軽に美味しい伝統的なトンカツを頂けます。
先日、小津映画の「秋刀魚の味」を見ました。劇中、トンカツ屋の二階で瓶ビール飲みながらトンカツを食べる場面があるんですよね(御徒町の「蓬莱屋」がモデルだそうです)。あのシーンが印象的で、「老舗トンカツ屋でビール」がちょっと夢です。今日はお酒飲まなかったけど、今度はやってみたいものです。
