かっては日本三大カレーと称えられた神戸オリエンタルホテルのカレー。
それを受け継ぐというSionさんにようやく行くことができました。
基本はランチのみで、土日だけディナーで空いています。
花隈の駅から、南に下り、ややわかりにくい場所ですが、見つけることができました。
店はカウンターが8席、奥に掘りごたつ形式の座敷があります。
カウンターを選択します。
土曜の夜で、お客さんは約5組です。
初めてなので、ビーフカレーセットをお願いします。
マスターがカウンターの中で、大鍋からカレーを取り出し、小鍋で何やら手間暇をかけて調理をされています。
ピッコロやインディアンに行くと、それこそ大鍋からライスにしゃもじでかけて、ものの1－2分で出てきますが、ここは違います。
ハムや鶏などの前菜をビールとともにいただいている間も、マスターの手が止まることはありません。むしろ、何をしているかなあと覗きたいくらいです。
やっとカレーが来ました。
ライスにルーが直接かけられています。
お写真を撮って、まずは一口。
うっ、甘い。
昨今の辛い系ではなく、とてつもなく上品な甘さです。
リンゴたっぷりなんでしょうか。
ライスとの相性も抜群で、食べ進めていきます。
肉もいわゆる線維層と脂層が程よく重なり合っており、厳選された部位なんでしょうね。
目の前にお水があるのですが、口の中の後口がそれはそれは別世界で、水で消してしまいたくない…。
噂にたがわず、本当に美味しいカレーでした。
正直、今まで食べてきた中でもトップクラスです。
妻も、欧州の最高級カレーと絶賛。
次回は、ルーも大盛りにするか、エビカレーなるものも魅力的です。
