Last year, I passed by this restaurant just before it opened. I thought I would come here someday, so I just took a picture of the sign. A year has passed since then. I visited for the first time after seeing Asia Hunter's Twitter. I went in almost as soon as it opened. The lady at the restaurant (probably Nepalese) was extremely polite. She bowed beautifully at a 90-degree angle. I felt like I was being served at a department store. I ordered the Nepalese set meal (dal bhat) for 880 yen. First, a fresh salad was brought out. The dish was deep enough and packed with shredded cabbage. There was also a generous amount of sweet red dressing. It would definitely spill out if I used a fork, so I used chopsticks to pull out the cabbage little by little and eat it. Soon the dal bhat arrived. The amount of rice was amazing! It was a huge bowl of all-Japanese rice, piled high in a ball. There were three types of curry - dal (bean curry), chicken curry, and mutton curry, as well as saag, achar, and tarkari - and they were all very lively, and the portions were large. All the curries were plump and filling. All the dishes are delicious and salty, so they go down well with rice. According to past reviews, they are served in ceramic dishes, but this time they were served in metal thalis (large round plates) and kathri (small plates), so the atmosphere is nice and it is easy to mix and eat. After the meal, I added a Sherpa tea for 300 yen. I thought the Sherpa tea was black tea with wine, but what came out looked like chai. The waiter explained to me, who was confused, "It contains salt. You drink it without sugar." I have had salty milk tea at a Mongolian restaurant. The milk and tea leaves are richer than that, and the saltiness is light, so it is not a bad drink. However, I prefer sweet chai. I will definitely be bloated tomorrow from the excessive salt. Many dal bhat places in Kobe, or rather in the Kansai region, cost over 1,000 yen, so this is a very good dal bhat considering the taste, price, and volume.
