Directly connected to the south of JR Rokkomichi Station, on the first floor of Main Rokko, I ordered the Mokkai Soba Satisfaction Set (1,100 yen) at Tidanchu. In addition to the Mokkai Soba and pork and egg rice Onigiri, you can choose from four types of meat (cartilage soki, bone-in hon soki, rafute, and rare char siu). This time, I chose the cartilage soki. The noodles are made using the traditional Okinawa Soba method of adding wood ash to wheat flour instead of kansui, and are firm, smooth, and chewy. The soup is also very delicious with a gentle flavor from the dashi stock. It also comes with additional bonito flakes, so you can enjoy it to the fullest. The cartilage soki is the kind that you don't need to use your teeth to eat, and it makes a sizzling sound the moment you put it in your mouth. The pork soki Onigiri is a well-known Okinawa soul food. This set is a great deal for this price. The portions are also very generous and I was full! When I entered, there was one group waiting, but when I left, there were six groups waiting. This is a very popular restaurant.
