有馬温泉の中心地にある、登録有形文化財の古式温泉館。
数々の有名人も愛してきたこの宿を今回は宿泊させていただく事にした。
有馬温泉は、銀泉と金泉という二つのお湯が楽しめるが、こちらのお宿は金泉源泉かけ流し風呂がある。
変わった造りで、まずお風呂に入ると通常の湯があり、その奥に金泉への入り口があるのだ。
お湯の通路を進むとその先に深い湯場があり、そこは敷居が低くなっていて男湯と女湯がそれぞれ顔を合わせられる仕様。
なんというか半混浴状態。
こちらの宿には金泉しかないのだけれど、銀泉を楽しむには温泉街にある公共の湯場を利用すればよい。
同様に金泉の公共湯場もあるので、宿に宿泊しなくても楽しめるのが有馬温泉のよいところなのだろうか。
この宿、なんといってもその建造物の荘厳さに圧倒される。
幾度となく補強やリノベーションをしてきたとは思うが、重要なところは決して手を付けず、古きを守るその姿勢が素晴らしい。
調度品類も名品ばかりで、宿の中を歩くだけでも目の保養となる。
そして何よりスタッフの対応が最高だ。
教育がしっかりされており、これぞおもてなしという対応をして下さる。
これは教育というか、この宿全体に漂う組織文化のようなものだろう。
ここで働きたいという人がここにいるという感じで、単なる仕事として割り切るのなら、あれほどの気遣いはできないだろう。
