I made a reservation for the full course selection with Ten-don (tempura rice bowl) or tempura tea, 13 dishes in total, as described on Tabelog, and visited with a friend on a holiday at 5pm. We started with a plate of conger Bar Sushi, and Tempura is apparently a specialty here, with a slightly sweet pickled plum. The menu is as follows: Live kuruma prawn (with Tempura head) Tofu wrapped in shiso leaves Flatfish Aoyagi small shrimp and shiso leaves Kasumi firefly squid and salad full of condiments Aomori scallops Natural butterbur shoots and tempura beans Kagawa asparagus Toyama white shrimp Fukuoka bamboo shoots Awaji conger eel (additional order) Abalone (one shared between two people) (additional order) Iwakuni lotus root Mini tempura bowl with shrimp tempura Red miso Ten-don (tempura rice bowl) with clams from Lake Shinji Dessert Brown sugar sorbet and Tempura As expected, the best way to enjoy tempura is to have it fried right in front of you and eat it fresh. All the dishes were light and crispy, and the Seafood toppings, especially the prawns, scallops, white shrimp, and the abalone we ordered as an extra, went well with the salt, making it so delicious that you'll want to keep eating. The restaurant has a homey atmosphere, with families with small children visiting, so it's a little lacking in luxury (sorry <(_ _)>), but on the contrary, I thought it was a good restaurant where you can enjoy specialty Tempura in a casual atmosphere at a reasonable price.
