知らない街でレストランを選ぶ場合、もちろん食べログなどのグルメサイトを見て決めることが多いですが、私は少し参考にするだけで、どちらかというと直感で店を選びます。
食べログなどの口コミを見過ぎると、料理を食べに来たのか、それとも評判を確認しに来たのかわからなくなるからです。
神戸周辺でイタリアンのお店を探していたら、この店を見つけました。神戸市内ではなく、芦屋のお店です。芦屋というと関西トップの高級住宅街。どんな店か楽しみです。
ＪR芦屋から徒歩数分の場所に位置するラッフィナートは、高級感あふれる外観。ビル１棟まるごとリストランテになっていました。
そして個室の席に案内されましたが、そもそも全席個室。芦屋セレブ御用達の店なのでしょうか？ ラッフィナートはイタリア語で「優雅」らしいですが、そんな言葉がぴったり当てはまります。
席に座ると、いきなりうやうやしくソムリエ氏が玉手箱を運んで来ました！ソムリエ氏が「写真を撮るご用意を」と言うので、何が出てくるのかと思いふたを開けてみると煙がモクモク・・・ 玉手箱の中身は色とりどりの生花と、入っていたのはなんと呼び鈴でした。全室個室なので、どうしても呼び鈴が必要なのです。
コースのデイナーは和の食材を多用しながらも本格的なイタリアンを感じさせる料理でした。日本人の好きな食材を使い、食べやすいイタリアン。
家に帰ってから調べました。オーナーシェフの小坂歩武氏は1974年生まれ。2004年にこの店を独立開業する前に何軒ものイタリア料理店で修業されましたが、その中でも東京・西麻布の「アルポルト」でも修業されていました。そうあのイタリアンのレジェンド・片岡譲氏の店です。
確かに、甘い人参のエスプーマと生ウニとコンソメのゼラティーナは「アルポルト」でも提供されていた一品だし、カニのカッペリーニなどの料理にも、どこかアルポルトのテイストを感じます。
もちろん全てアルポルトそっくりという訳ではないのですが。アルポルトが東京でのお気に入りイタリアンの１つである私としては、関西で親戚の店を見つけたような、ちょっと嬉しい気分でした。
