水戸駅周辺には意外にそば屋が少ない。そんな中で、当店は南口から数百メートルの貴重なお店。外観はとにかく地味で、幟がなければ通り過ぎてしまうぐらい目立たない店構えです。
○けんちんそば
冬の楽しみのひとつが「けんちんそば」。人参、里芋、牛蒡、蒟蒻、大根、芋がら、など、根菜類がたっぷり入った温かいおそば。うどんも美味しいけど、私はそば。実はこの冬はじめて食べる「けんちんそば」です。
個人的に、具材のキーポイントは里芋だと思っています。ほかの具材とともに、出汁に旨味が溶け出すぐらい煮込んでもらいたいのが私の希望。その目印が里芋の煮込まれ具合なんです。
期待に違わぬ「けんちんそば」でした。期待通り旨味十分な出汁と、しっかりとした食感のそば。更に煮崩すぐらいでもＯＫですね。でも、このレベルでも十分に私の好みの味でした。
けんちん汁は、茨城をはじめ、岩手、神奈川、大分などの郷土料理。そのけんちん汁にそばを入れたのがけんちんそばで、茨城発祥と言われる冬の風物詩。温まりますよ。ぜひぜひ。
