日曜日の夜に開いているうなぎ屋さんは数少なく、行きつけの隣の名店もお休み。当初は、南町のうなぎ屋さんに行こうと計画していたが、コロナ禍でホテルが対応の宿泊施設となり、駅前のホテルにやむなく変更。ホテルに着いた時間は午後7時。シャワーで汗を流して、バスに乗って南町に向かう気力もなく、近くのお店へ。他のサイトの口コミで、焼き物が美味しかったとの書き込みがあり、きじ重が美味しいとの評価。昔、ランチでよく食べたきじ重が好きだったので、こちらでも食べてみようと暖簾をくぐる。年輩のご夫妻をお店で、他にお客の姿はない。他の方の書き込みで生ビールが美味しなかったとのことで、純米酒をちびちびやって、蒲焼きを待つ。出されたう巻きはまあまあのお味。蒲焼きは皆さんの評価と同じく、どうも塩辛い。まずくはないけど、塩が効きすぎの感じ。半分残して、きじ重のご飯と食べるとちょうど良い感じだった。刻み海苔のかかった照り焼きの焼き鳥丼がきじ重。これは、久しぶりに食べた懐かしい味で大変に美味しかった。
