Regular beef bowl lunch set, 500 yen. Visited at lunchtime in early October. There were 6 customers ahead of me, and 10 after me. It's been about 5 years since my last visit to Matsuya. I headed for Uokane, which was introduced in a book about delicious restaurants, but the 5 customers waiting outside showed no signs of moving, so I gave up. There is a ticket machine on the left as you enter. I ate inside the restaurant and clicked on a regular beef bowl lunch set for 500 yen. The system automatically sends orders to the kitchen. I grabbed my self-serve cold water and headed to an empty counter seat. I wanted to have my bowl with lots of sauce... I later confirmed that the ticket said, "Customers who would like extra sauce, etc., should bring their meal ticket and come to the serving counter." The restaurant is run by 3 women. It seems like they can handle it with fewer staff than Sukiya. The bowl arrived as soon as my number was called...haha! The regular Gyudon (Beef bowl) is small. First, I had miso soup. The miso soup with just the right amount of saltiness from the wakame seaweed and fried tofu is comforting. It seems that the miso soup at Matsuya, which comes for free, is the most delicious among chain restaurants. Next, I had Gyudon (Beef bowl) topped with pickled ginger... Oh, let's eat a salad first. There are several types of dressing on the table. Barbecue has grated onion? But it's overflowing with it, OB. It's delicious with sesame dressing too. You can also add sweet dressing... Matsuya's dressing is delicious. After finishing the salad, I had Gyudon (Beef bowl). Pickled ginger came, and the beef was seasoned strongly and had some fat. The seasoning is stronger than Yoshinoya and Sukiya, which I like. I heard that it was less fatty, but that wasn't the case. However, the amount of soup is the least among the three chains. I should have ordered more soup. Also, the pickled ginger was quite strong, so I think they should have added it later to change the flavor. Besides the beef, it contains onions, but they are stewed so softly that you can't even feel the texture. I like the spiciness of the chili pepper. I finish it with pickled ginger. I finished it in no time. It was a one-coin lunch with all three elements. Thank you for the meal.
