解説：佐竹氏は鎌倉時代から約450年にわたり常陸国（現在の茨城県）を支配した豪族です。佐竹郷（現在の常陸太田市）を居城に20代にわたり常陸国を支配しました。1600年(慶長5年)の関ヶ原の戦いで、立場を明確にしなかったことから、1602年(慶長7年)に領地を没収され、秋田に国替えになりました。
