I visited "Kobo", a long-established Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) in front of "Kenkyu Gakuen" station on the Tsukuba Express line. While there has been an increase in fashionable Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) in this area recently, this is a restaurant that has been consistent in its style since ancient times. Originally, the restaurant promotes Japanese sake, but it seems to also stock aged Japanese whiskey, perhaps in an attempt to attract inbound tourists.
