楽天酒家の創業者大内さんが東口店の内装を作っている最中に借りていた古民家をふと「ここ、店にしてみようか?」と思い、大家さんにも承諾をもらって作ったのが西口店だそうです。
私はこちらの方が雰囲気が落ち着いていて、好きですね。
店を引き継いだ現オーナーの大野さんもよく勉強されて、こだわりの素材をこだわりの調理法で出してくれます。
ここでしたか食べられないものが多く、新しい味との出会いに感動する機会が多々あります。
単品でもいいですが、3,000円、4,000円、5,000円と分かれているコースで頼むのも次に何が出てくるかという楽しみがあって、いいです。
私のお気に入りはカニみそコキール、これは絶品です。
肉の仕入れにもこだわっていて、希少部位の常陸牛のイチポは柔らかくて美味しいです。
あと、お酒の種類の多さは目を見張るほどで、特に焼酎は日本全国の味を堪能できます。
関はカウンターに6席(詰めて座れば8席)、その後ろに2人で向かい合って座る席が1つ、奥の畳の座敷に団体用のテーブル席などがあります。
私はカウンターの席で、店員から料理の説明やお勧めのお酒を聴きながら食事をするのが好きです。
味は他の居酒屋でもこのくらいのレベルの料理を出すところはいくらでもあると思いますが、これに店の雰囲気が加わることで付加価値を生んでいる部分があり、お酒も含めると支払はそこそこになることは覚悟してください。
デートには最高の店です。
