ラーメンは、竹岡式というだけあって、スープ自体に出汁が取られている感じはありません。チャーシューの煮汁でとった醤油ダレとラードの味を純粋に味わうことができました。玉ねぎがスープ全体に甘みを出してくれています。
麺は中太ストレート麺です。竹岡式というからには乾麺なのでしょうか？たしかに伸びやすいような印象を受けましたが、その分スープの色に染まってくれ、麺自体に味がついています。
チャーシューはしっかり味が漬け込まれていてしょっぱめの大判です。出し殻ですかしっかり食べごたえがありました。
多くのレビュアーさんが言うように、サイドメニューのチャーハンが絶品でした。程よくパラパラに米の芯を残すように炒められていますが、ふわふわ感を損なうことがなく絶妙です。ほぐし肉のようなチャーシューは味が濃く、食欲が湧く味です。チャーハン全体をラードの香ばしさが包んでいて、それでいて油っぽさを感じさせない仕上がりでした。
他のお客さんは、チャーハンのみで注文されていたので、この店の陰の看板メニューは実はチャーハンと言っていいかもしれません。
