茨城県は守谷市にある古民家のとんかつ店『かつ吉 野庵』を訪ねます。
昭和37年に水道橋ではじまった「かつ吉」の系譜に名を連ねます。ちなみに、かつ吉系と呼ばれるお店は直営以外にも、１０店舗以上の独立店舗を全国に誕生させております。かつ吉系の特徴は、巨大なメニューブック、柔らかいヒレかつ、たくさんの調味料や副菜、青紫蘇ご飯、などありますが、守谷市内のとんかつ店ではその全てを受け継いでおります。
まずは、たくさんの調味料と副菜たちの充実っぷりをご覧ください。もやし炒め、揚げ出し豆腐、キャベツ、ドレッシング、胡麻味噌、トマトマヨネーズ、お新香三種などなど。もちろんこの中には、定番の青紫蘇ご飯も含まれております。一人の食卓とは思えぬ充実度ですよね。笑
「特吟上ひれかつ定食」
かつ吉の代名詞といえば柔らかなひれかつ。本家は低温でじっくり揚げた白い衣が特徴だが、同店の衣はきつね色。サクサクした食感の衣の中に包まれるのは、やはり柔らかさに驚かされます。また、ヒレカツとは思えぬ、しっとりとした口当たりも特徴で、肉にはキラキラと肉汁が浮かんでおります。調味料は多く用意されるが、塩でシンプルに食べるのが一番のおすすめです。
