今日はいろいろうまくいかないこともあって、土砂降りの雨の中、片道２時間以上かけて鹿島へ逃避行してきました。
向かった先は、アイリスラーメン。
おいしいと評判のお店です。
それにしても土砂降りで前もよく見えないし、車のナビはかなり古くて、着いてみたら田んぼの中。
ありゃ～～。困ったと言うことで、近くのコンビニの店員さんへ聞きました。
この辺はとにかくラーメン屋さんが多いんですね。びっくりです。
若い店員さんは知りませんでしたが、それなりの人が詳しく教えてくれてわかりました。
夜８時３０分で、土砂降りだったので、ビックハウスという大きなお店をめざし、反対側へ行ってすぐと覚えた方が行きやすかったです。
さて、店頭に車を止めて。あまり多くは止められないのかな。
その割には中に入ると奥が深くて、きれいなテーブルがたくさんあります。
この時間には、そのお店の奥側は使っていないみたいで、厨房の近くのテーブルか、カウンターに通されます。
さてと。
車を止めて店内を見ると、以前はスナックだったところを改築しているらしく、スナックのカウンターとソファー風の柄に半円形のくるくる回る回転イスが見えるので、スナックなの？と思いますが、ラーメン屋でした。店内には「フットルース」の曲が流れていて、おお、懐かしい。
メニューは、最前列にトマト風担々麺があり、一押しなのかなと思いました。きっと冷製のトマトスパゲッティーを想像させる感じかな。
今回頼んだのは、黒ごま担々麺。７３０円。
黒い漆黒の器に入れられて運ばれてきたラーメンは、スープを飲み終えると黒ごまのペースト的なものがしっかりと残るくらい入っています。
半熟卵に、白ごま、メンマ、ほうれん草、きざみねぎ、挽肉、背脂が入っていて、麺を中程まで食べるまでは辛く感じませんが、終盤にさしかかると担々麺特有の辛みがやってきます。
一番特筆すべきは、麺。
細麺なのに、かん水の効いた鮮やかでもっちりした黄色い麺です。こんな麺は水戸方面では見たことがありません。
普通の店は麺の大盛りは無料サービスですが、ここでは違います。
理由が食べてみてわかりました。
他店でもあったのですが、細麺もとんこつバリカタでないと、ゆであげた後にくっついてしまって，せっかくの細麺がほぐれなくなってしまいます。
それを解消するために、大盛りにせず、替え玉無料にしているようです。
替え玉は真っ白な器に真っ黄色な細麺がのってきます。
正直、替え玉しなくても麺の量は普通に足りる感じです。
自分はがっつり食べたいので、替え玉を頂き、すぐになくなってしまいました。
その頃には汗が額ににじみ始めました。
すかさず、店員さんが、小さめのボトルを出してくれました。タイミングがいいね。
お水もおいしかった。
こんな変わった麺は初めてです。他にも担々麺の種類は豊富なようなので、近かったら食べに来たいな。
