Charcoal grilled chicken ¥1180 2019/04/06 At dusk on a holiday in April. My family is riding in a Hitachi train ahead of time to participate in a marathon event that will be held the next day. As usual, I decided to invite my wife's relatives who live nearby for dinner the night before. This time, for some reason, I'm going to go to Yamauchi Farm, a national chain of Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). However, this was my first visit since I don't drink alcohol, and I had always wanted to try it at least once, so I guess that was a good thing. lol It was the day of the Hitachi Cherry Blossom Festival, but there were still a few customers here. It didn't seem like anyone was there, and there were only two groups of customers ahead of us. The restaurant has private rooms and large hall seats, but my family wanted seats in the ratty hall. The hall seats are tatami mats with sunken kotatsu. As expected, we have the house to ourselves, so my two sons lie down or walk around (they retreat when other guests arrive). ...In the end, since it was the first time for me and my relatives to visit, we didn't know what to order, so we followed the restaurant's popularity ranking and ordered ``charcoal-grilled chicken.'' I Other ordered salads and Onigiri, but there was nothing particularly memorable about the menu, so I'll just review the charcoal-grilled chicken. Charcoal-grilled chicken is certainly characterized by the smoky aroma and aromatic flavor typical of charcoal-grilled food. The texture of the meat is firm and chewy, which is typical of local chicken, but because of the small bite size, the texture is somewhat lacking. However, for someone who usually only eats broiled chicken, eating free-range chicken is a rare experience as it seems like a completely different ingredient. I think it's because there aren't many customers yet, but the customer service at the store was smooth and I had a good impression. ...I thought that the local Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) chain ``Katoshi-ya'', which is a few hundred meters away from this restaurant, which I used several years ago, had a more elaborate feel.
