旧金砂郷の赤土地区は、常陸秋そばの産地として有名ですが、そんな赤土を店名にするこちらに伺いました。
赤土出身の店主自ら赤土の畑で栽培した蕎麦を提供しているとのことで、伺いたかったお店です。
駐車場はお店の前にあります。お店はこじんまりしてますが、田舎のお店の雰囲気がありいい感じです。店内の壁には、著名な方々のサインがありました。
こちらのお店は、11月の新蕎麦の時期の1ヶ月の「十割蕎麦」を提供しますが、それ以外は二八蕎麦のみです。
注文したのは1日20食限定の自家製辛み大根蕎麦とそば茶漬けのセット。蕎麦と茶漬けがセットでとてもユニークなので思わず注文してしまいました。
さて、こちらのお蕎麦は風味が強く太めで、田舎蕎麦のため太さや長さにばらつきがあり、とても特徴的です。蕎麦つゆはやや濃いめですが、コシのある蕎麦とマッチングしてとても美味しかったです。
また、お茶漬けはカリッと焼き上げたライスのおにぎりを、熱い蕎麦汁とともに茶漬けでいただきましたが、創作料理のアレンジでこちらも美味しく頂きました。
食べ終わる頃に店主とお話ししましたが、蕎麦つゆの返しは、旨味がますように継ぎ足して使われているとのお話しでした。
地元の蕎麦を知り尽くす店主が提供する蕎麦に、舌鼓いたしました。
