米好きな自分にとって、茨城で美味しい米といえば常陸太田と常陸大宮、そして大子町の３ヶ所
茨城の人はどうしても米の中に芯を求めるが、やっぱりコシヒカリは水分たっぷりモチモチで炊いたほうが美味しい
というわけで、個人的な好みとして県南の平地の米はやっぱりあまり好きではない
そんなむっちり炊き上げた特Aのコシヒカリをお替りし放題で堪能できるのが常陸太田の直売所こめ工房のこめ工房御膳
特徴はなんといっても精米したての新米を大量に炊き上げることで実現したごはんの美味しさ
そして、そのごはんを引き立てるお母さんの手作り惣菜
ちょっと無骨な天ぷらも、既製品の天汁もこのごはんを引き立てる脇役
惣菜はどれも甘辛でこの土地のお母さんの手作りであることがうかがわれる
蕎麦もついてくるのだが、ラーメンライスのように蕎麦をすすりながらお米を食べるのも意外と乙だったりする
とにかくごはんが本当に美味しい
そんなに大盛りとかお替りとか頼まない自分だが、思わずお替りしてしまった
蕎麦さえなければヴィーガンにも対応しているので海外からお客さんが来たときにも重宝しそう
