近年、兼六園は日本人よりも海外の観光客の姿の方が目立つようになりましたが、２月以降はインバンド需要もめっきり少なくなり、この日兼六園の桂坂口料金所あたりには外国人の姿はまったく見かけませんでした。
そんな桂坂口料金所の隣にあって、この場所で営業し始めてから100年以上の歴史を誇っています。
ひがし茶屋街で「懐華樓」というお茶屋さんがありますが、そこと同じ経営です。この日も女将がお店にいらっしゃいました。
ここは、新国立競技場の設計で知られる隈研吾氏が空間設計やデザインを担当されています。
私はこれまで、隈研吾氏の設計やデザインに携わった建築物・店舗に数多く行っています。
建築家なので当たり前といえば当たり前ですが、新国立競技場もそうなのですが、木を使って優しさとシャープさをデザインするのが上手なですね。
さて、お店は２階は食事するスペースになっていて、１階がカフェスペース。２階へ上る階段のところに隈研吾氏のサインがありました。
着いたのは14時前だったのですが、ご覧のように１階のカフェスペースにはお客さんはいません。よって新型コロナウイルスの３密状態とは無縁です。
まぁ、感染リスクの３密は避けられるのはよかったのですが、お店の方もせっかく投資したのに大変だろうなぁ？と心配になりました。従業員も手持無沙汰なようでした。
インテリアとしては「黒」一色と言っていいほど。かろうじて、かけられている暖簾、奥の金沢城の金のモチーフ、そして天井からぶら下げられている隈研吾氏デザインの照明が色を持っています。
我々はカフェの奥にある窓際のカウンター席に案内されました。いい空間で、金沢城、石川門。そして桜を眺めながらお茶することが出来ました。
２階の食事のスペースでは、お弁当が楽しめます(季節限定)。
私が頼んだのは「献上加賀棒茶 落雁付(税別650円)」加賀棒茶は加賀市の「丸八製茶場」の「献上加賀棒茶」を使用しています。
菓子は見城亭と落雁諸江屋のコラボレーションによる落雁「JAPAN」という名前だそうです。
妻は「抹茶 生落雁付(税別700円)」。抹茶は老舗の「野田屋茶店」謹製。
こちらも諸江屋のコラボレーションの生落雁でした。
金沢の町や兼六園を散策した後は、ゆっくりとお茶でもしたいお店ですね！ご馳走様でした。
