An adult French restaurant fitting for Higashiyama, Kanazawa.
We value seasonal local ingredients and the chef himself purchases fresh seafood and Kaga vegetables at Omicho Market. Please enjoy our classic French cuisine in the quaint surroundings of Higashi Cha |
I'm not a big fan of French cuisine, but my daughter's favorite. I don't go to Higashiyama very often because it's always full of tourists, but there are a lot of new restaurants now. The restaurants are, of course, renovated old houses. It's clean and comfortable. I think the first one I had was sawara... I've heard it many times, but I've forgotten it again (sweats). It's a part called "sode" wrapped in thin pie dough and baked. It has zucchini fritters and a smooth tartar sauce hidden inside. It's delicious. Next is a carpaccio of tuna, water eggplant, and avocado. The dressing is light and not too sour or salty. The raw water eggplant is also fresh, and the avocado adds richness to the refreshing tuna. Cold corn soup. The main dish is "Sweet Snapper and Scallop Gratine". It's OK even if you're not good at fish! The rich aroma of butter and the melting sweet snapper. It's one of the best sweet snapper I've ever eaten. The scallops are also thick and have a nice roasted flavor on the surface. The bread is hard, but the more you chew it, the sweeter it becomes. The butter is unsalted♪ This is the only main dish, but it was just right for me. For dessert, we had a French baked confectionery called "farbret" topped with ice cream containing fresh caramel. The caramel ice cream was too sweet, but the baked confectionery was fluffy and not too sweet, so it was well balanced. When I eat French cuisine food in other places, the fish and meat are half-cooked and the portions are too large, and I end up feeling sick (torture), but Kanazawa French cuisine isn't heavy at all. It's easy to eat (^O^)/ The coffee has a nice aroma. After all, French cuisine food is best when it's about the size of a lunch for the elderly. I'll be having lunch here from now on♡ Thanks for the meal
