An exquisite Italian Cuisine using plenty of local Iwate ingredients, commonly known as Yamada Tari-an
A popular Italian Cuisine Restaurants in Yamada-machi, a coastal town in Iwate Prefecture, has reopened in Morioka! Although it was forced to close due to the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Ea |
I visited Sanriku Yamada Tari-an [a:3006530, Rokare Asha] for the first time and tried their lunch course menu. For the antipasto misto, we had a carpaccio and frittata of red sea bream from Miyako, and early-harvested young seaweed shoots from Yamada. For the primo, we had a cream pasta-style oyster dish, which combined large Oyster from Yamada with Oyster-like noodles that had a mysterious texture similar to Morioka Cold Noodles. The first course was "Spinacia", and for the second course was "Stufato" made with venison from Ezo deer caught in the mountains of Yamada where matsutake mushrooms are harvested. The grilled vegetables in the contorno were even more impressive than the venison main dish. For dessert, we had "Tiramisu" made using dairy products from Mitani Farm, which is famous for its "Golden Cheese" in the Okunakayama Plateau in northern Iwate Prefecture. After coffee, we had a full range of lunch courses. Given the price, it would be unfair to criticize too much, so I'll stop there. Regardless of the taste, for the time being we were able to enjoy Yamada-produced Oyster and venison, and the bill came to 2,300 yen, so it may be a good place to go for everyday use.
