宿以外はほぼノープランで訪れた盛岡旅行でしたが、こちらの「味の店 いわし」さんだけは事前に予約をし、楽しみにしていたお店でした。
訪問の2週間ぐらい前に電話で予約をしましたが、その時点でテーブル席はいっぱいとのこと。 当日はカウンター含め全席満席でしたので予約が必須と思います。
当店の売りは何と言っても新鮮なお魚が非常にリーズナブルにいただけること。また、素材の良さだけでなく、きちんと仕事がなされたものであることです。
「お刺身盛り合わせ 7点 (2,500円/2人前)」は、一人前ずつ美しくお皿に盛っていただけ、居酒屋というより、懐石料理屋に来ているような贅沢な気持ちになれます。目の前でホッキ貝をさばく様子等も拝見し、大将の手際の良さに惚れ惚れしました。
「特大焼き牡蠣 (830円/2個)」は、陸前高田から直送とのこと。かなりレアめの仕上げでプリプリの状態で頂くことができるのも、鮮度が高いからですね。
一貫から注文できるお寿司もやはりマストだと感じました。写真を見ていただければお分かりになると思いますが、それぞれの魚にあった仕事や味付けがなされており、居酒屋のお寿司とは思えません。好きなネタを好きなだけ注文できるのも最高ですね。
このように、何を注文してもとても美味しい当店ですが、日本酒含め、お腹いっぱい食べて飲んで1人 6,000円というのは信じがたい費用対効果です。
盛岡に来たら必ず再訪しますし、行かれる方には是非おすすめしたいお店でした。
