つくりたての100％のわらび餅をいただけるカフェ、ということで、開店時間まで時間をつぶしながら行ってみました。
知っていなければまるでカフェには見えない、作業小屋のような外観です。
AMラジオが流れる、ちょっと薄暗い店内でわらび餅を待ちます。
壁には西和賀を紹介したチラシや、こちらのお店の商品のポスターなど貼られています。
そしてなぜか蛍の水槽があります。
一人なのでカウンターに座りましたが、カウンターにひざがあたり座りにくかったです。
『極 西わらび餅』￥550（税込み）
きな粉と抹茶が2個ずつ出されました。
なぜか水ようかん的なものを連想していたためよく冷やしているかと思いましたが勘違いで、つくりたてですので温かいです。
正直、本物のわらび餅のおいしさはわからなかったです（舌が鈍感らしい）。
きな粉と抹茶の味のやわらかいお餅、という感じです。
もちろん餅や求肥とは全く違います。
後で解凍した100％のわらび餅を食べましたが、そこで作りたてと作り置き（冷凍）のやわらかさの違いはよく分かりました。
黒豆茶付きでしたが、最初にサービスで出された冷えた麦茶のほうがおいしかったです。
