岩手県奥州市江刺区のイオンの側にあるこちらのお店は、「ラーメンWalker岩手2012」で紹介されていました。
お店に到着したのは水曜の19時頃でした。
夜の早い町で、イオンの広い駐車場に車は少なく、目の前の通りは、人も車もまばらでした。
お店に入ると、お店の奥さんが食事をしていました。
自分がいる間、客は自分1人でした。
札幌ラーメンと炭火焼鳥を看板にしたお店で、のれんには「西山製麺」の文字がありました。
札幌ラーメンと言えば、味噌ラーメンです。
「こく味噌らーめん」（¥750、大盛¥100、チャーシュー¥200、税別）を食べました。
ラードが効いた、味付けがしょっぱめの、シンプルでオーソドックスな味噌ラーメンでした。
「Walker」によれば、縮れたツヤのある中太麺は、西山製麺に特注したものだそうです。自分がイメージする典型的な西山製麺の麺とは違っていました。
脂身が多いチャーシューの厚切りが3枚のっていて、メンマは太切りでした。
