横浜駅西口にいつの間にか出来ていた「肉寿司」。
１０年ほど前は五反田と蒲田だけだったのに今では全国展開と言ってもいいほどの勢い。
とある平日、仕事帰りにコチラの肉寿司に立ち寄ってみます。
店内は大混雑ですが、ぼっちのアタシは隙間のように空いている席へすぐに案内されます。
まずはお約束の生ビールをお願いします。
軽く呑むつもりなので、ツマミには肉寿司らしいメニューの「馬わさ」。
ビールのおとおし、シナチクの和え物をツマミながら待っていると３～４分でウマわさが運ばれてきます。
クセのない馬肉のタタキ風のもの。「わさ」と付いていますがあまりわさびの香り・味はしません。ビールのツマミに良く合いますが、もう少しわさびを利かせてもいいかと思います。
ちなみにおみくじになっている箸袋では「大吉」がでました。
ぼっちで呑んでいてボーっと店内をみていると女性客の多いことに驚きます。１対１のカップル、２対２の仲間同士は当たり前で、女性の２人客、女性のみの４～５人のグループ客、アタシとご同輩のご夫婦？と「肉食女子」が多いことを感じます。
男女問わず、ぼっち客はアタシぐらい。
さて、アタシは気にせず生ビールをおかわり。
そして、ちょい呑みの〆には肉寿司をお願いします。
同時にハイボールを追加。
肉寿司は「馬三種盛り」と言うことで、馬肉の赤身・えんがわ・極上赤身の３つ。
先に運ばれてきたハイボールを呑んでいると肉寿司が登場です。
クセのないサッパリとした馬肉で香りがしないだけで牛肉に近い味。
脂っ気は少なく「肉の味」がストレートに味わえます。
ただ、赤身とえんがわは舌ざわり・歯ごたえは違うものの味に多いな違いはない感じ。アタシの舌がアルコールで麻痺していたのでしょうか？。
もちろん、どちらもウマい寿司です。極上赤身も普通の赤身と味にはあまり違いを感じません。ただいくらか肉にふんわりした感じはしました。
いずれにしても肉とはいえサッパリとしたにぎり。
海鮮に寿司のようにネタごとで大きな違いは出しにくいのかもしれませんが、美味しい寿司にしに仕上がっていて、アルコールとの相性も良い寿司だと思います。
