December 19th (Tuesday) Sunny Mt. Fuji in the clouds I think it's been 50 years since I went to the upper floor of the Tenri Building. Tenri Building at the west exit of Yokohama Station. There are several high-rise buildings in Yokohama, such as Landmark Tower, but this must have been the tallest building when I was a child. When I was in the 6th grade of elementary school or the 1st year of junior high school, I got into an elevator with some friends of a building that was under construction and went to the top floor. Normally, I would have been scolded, but the old men working there were kind to me. The old man (a migrant worker?) with a Tohoku accent had kind eyes that reminded him of the children living in the snow country waiting for their father to return. Today, I visited for lunch on my mom's birthday. My mother is at home, so I can't do it at night. It's like I made a reservation for my own birthday, but I obediently follow it. 25th floor of Tenri Building, entry time is 12:02. This is a window seat overlooking the southwest side of Yokohama. This is a 5,500 yen course. On weekday lunchtimes, it seems that only customers with reservations are accepted, but perhaps that's why the restaurant is completely reserved, with no other customers from the time they enter until they leave. As for drinks, I had a driving schedule, so I decided on Dry Zero (550 yen), and my wife chose Yuzu Honey Soda (400 yen). The course includes an assortment of kimchi and namul, choregi salad, and yukhoe potato salad. The important meats are Cow tongue tongue, Kuroge Wagyu beef short ribs, Nakaochi short ribs, lean meat, and sirloin. Grilled vegetables include shiitake mushrooms, king king mushrooms, and paprika. Meat, rice, and wakame soup at the same time. Finish with a bite of Cold Noodles and yuzu sorbet. Except for Cow tongue, all the meat was Japanese black beef, so even an old man with bad teeth could enjoy the meat. On the other hand, Cow tongue is so tough that it is difficult to bite into it. 10 pieces in total, 2 pieces for each part. There are 3 types of sauce. Tamari soy sauce, ponzu soy sauce, lemon type. The rice is soft. It's good even if it's soft, but the grade seems to be low. But I got a refill because it was free. At this point, I was full, but to finish it off, a bite of cold Cold Noodles and yuzu sorbet appeared. Cold Noodles are Sudachi's refreshing Cold Noodles. It was topped with grated daikon radish and was very delicious. This time, Cow tongue was a little off, the dressing on the choregi salad was a bit off-putting, and the quality of the rice wasn't great, but other than that, everything else was delicious. I felt like I could enjoy the night view if I visited at night. (The view from our restaurant is from the south side of Yokohama to the north side, so we can't see the ocean side of Tokyo Bay.) Also, although it's not something I'm worried about, we were the only customers at lunch. Maybe I should think of something? It's a big help, but...
