※野毛山動物園のコンセプトは｢誰もが気軽に訪れ、楽しめる動物園であり、小さな子どもがはじめて動物に出会い、ふれあい、命を感じる動物園｣です。当園は入園無料ということもあり、園の散歩や学校を終えた近隣の子供たちが気軽に遊びに来てくれています。さらには、開園当時子どもだった方が年を重ね、お孫さんとともに親子3世代で動物園を楽しまれているご家族もいらっしゃいます。このように、長きにわたり横浜市民に親しまれ、みなさまの大切な思い出の場所の一つになっている施設です。
