A long time ago, about 35 years ago, we used to gather at Yoronotaki in Shibuya almost every week. We would try to hang on to a big mug of beer and kimchi and natto (what a nuisance lol). In the past 10 years, I've only set foot in Yoronotaki once. And it was in Uguisudani, which was full of originality. I've heard that Yoronotaki gives franchisees a lot of freedom, and that some stores have their own unique menus. I have a lot of feelings about one of Yoronotaki's signs. - For the appetizer, there was dried daikon radish, carrots, and green seaweed, I think it was kelp, mixed with mayonnaise. - Cabbage and egg stir-fry was 250 yen. It seems to have been a special menu for that day. And it wasn't just cabbage, but also paprika, green peppers, bamboo shoots, chives, and pork. The seasoning was like Yakiniku (Grilled meat) sauce. I stopped in with one glass of draft beer, but ended up with two. The draft beer was a medium-sized mug. Sapporo Black Label. The highball was Dewar's. It was quite strong. The strong part accumulates on the top, so I was told to stir it. It seemed like the system was to pour soda into the mug and then pour the whiskey in later. And it was actually a little thoughtful that you could control the ratio yourself, instead of just mixing it by default. I paid 1,570 yen. I think they charged about 300 yen for the appetizer. I wonder when I'll be able to go through the curtains of Yoronotaki next.
