この日は、次女の通う高校の文化祭を見に来た帰りに元町に立ち寄ってランチをとりました。
結果、元町商店街の裏通りにある「ワインホール」というお店で３人揃ってローストビーフ丼を食べたのですが、質量ともに今一つの結果に・・・
そこで、同店には早めに見切りをつけ、別のお店で食後のデザートでも食べて行こうと私が提案。
私がおごるという一言も付け加えたので、家内も娘も当然否やはありません。
あらかじめ食べログで調べていた当店を目指すことにします。
元町商店街をテクテクと歩いた後、前田橋を渡って、朱雀門から中華街に入ります。
天長門の手前を左折したあと一本目の道（上海路。正面にローズホテル横浜がみえる道です。）を右折とちょっとクネクネと進みますが、暫く行くと当店が右手に見えてきます。
当店の正式名称は、CHILLULU COFFEE & HOSTEL。カフェと簡易宿泊施設（20人部屋、１人１泊3,500円）が一体となっています。
カフェの入口から入るとそこにレジがありますが、そのレジがホステルのフロントも兼ねているようです。
真昼間なのにチェックインしようとしている客がいました。
何でもチェックインは朝8:30から可能（ただし、部屋の利用は15時から）だそうです。
最初に注文を決めてここで支払いを済ませるのかなと思っていたら、店員さんからまず席に座って、ゆっくりメニューを見て考えて下さい、と進められます。
なかなかの気遣い。直前のワインホールとはホスピテリティの点で差を感じます。
ということで、厨房を左手に見ながら奥へ進みます。
奥には、電源の付いた長テーブル席のほか、普通のテーブル席、そして屋外にテラス席も３卓あります。
好天に恵まれた日だったのですが、テラス席は気が引けたので、屋内のテーブル席に着席しました。
卓上にはメニューがあるので、それをザっと眺めます。
ブレンドコーヒーは、500円。
デザート系だと店頭の看板からも看板メニューっぽく感じたパンケーキ、フレンチトーストのほか、本日のケーキ、プリン、アイスクリームなどがあります。
店員さんに本日のケーキは何かと聞いたら、レジ横のショーケースを見るように言われ、それを見ていると店員さんがケーキの解説をしてくれます。
この日のケーキは、オペラ、マロンミルクレープ、ブルーベリーカシス、キャラメルムース、ニューヨークチーズケーキの５点が並べられていました。
セットメニューもあって、フードかデザートを頼むとドリンクが100円引きになるようだったので、３人揃ってこのセット割引を利用することにし、ドリンクは全員がブレンドコーヒーを注文。
デザートは、家内がニューヨークチーズケーキ、長女がキャラメルムース、私が最近は待っているカスタードプリンを注文しました。
本日のケーキセットは850円、プリンは800円になるので、計2,500円丁度です。
支払いを済ませると席で待つように言われ、注文の品は席まで持って来てくれます。
カスタードプリンは、最近色んなところで食べているのですが、当店のカスタードプリン、そのどれと比べても勝るとも劣らないなかなかの逸品です。
プリン自体の甘さをかなり抑えてあるほか、カラメルソースがほろ苦さとほんのりした甘さを兼ね備えた大人好みのソース。美味しいです。
ニューヨークチーズケーキとキャラメルムースも少しづつ味見させてもらいましたが、どちらもなかなか本格派です。
でも、私はやっぱりカスタードプリンにして正解と思いました。
休日の昼下がりの中華街ということもあって、混雑を警戒していたのですが、場所もあるのか、あるいはホステル兼カフェということで目立たないのか、待つほどの混雑はありませんでした。（ただし、テラス席３卓は、満席になってました。）
なかなかの穴場カフェですね。中華街巡りの休憩スポットとして、かなりのお勧めです。
