JR根岸線洋光台駅前 サンモール洋光台内
昭和40年代の雰囲気を残す商店街の一角。店に入り右側に設置の消毒液で指を濡らしたあと、店内を見渡し適当であろう３人掛けのカウンター席にテレビの方を向いて座り、文字のみで構成されるメニュー表より 春菊そば700円に決め、眼光の鋭い女将であろうお母さんへオーダー。
店外に設置の飲料水自販機の設定ミスで、販売機会を損失したという、店主が呼び出した業者を叱り、それにより平謝りする営業マンの背中を眺めたり、「カラオケ一曲200円！」はこのタイミングでも受け入れられるのかどうかと思いを馳せたりすること、およそ8分で配膳されました。
・春菊そば
色合い鮮やかでビックサイズの天ぷらにほくそ笑む。
その天ぷらは揚げたてではないものの、ほのかな温かさでサクサクとした食感をキープ。
配膳された黒いプラ製箸は隅に置き、持参の檜端材で造った国産割箸を割り、黒いつゆからそばを手繰り、少しだけ息を吹きかけて豪快に音をたてて啜れば訪れる諦念。
真っ黒いそばは、そばであろうか何であるか理解することが困難なほど不思議なお味＆食感。あの日向子さんが言った、そば(のようなもの）というのが的確か。
富山のブラックラーメンを彷彿とさせるような色のつゆも、天ぷらから溶け出す風味により命の灯を保っているであろうか。
辛くて塩っ辛くて出汁が効いてないつゆ。メニューに「かけそば」の選択肢がないのも納得できます。
この内容で700円。商店街には貴重なそば店であろうこちら。実感価格との乖離は否めない。
