昭和28（1953）年創業、古都鎌倉にふさわしい甘味処『納言志るこ店』を訪ねます。観光客ばかりでなく地元の人にも愛されるお店で、週末になると行列もできる人気店なのだとか。
屋号にある通り、主役となるのは名物のお汁粉。「田舎しるこ」と「御膳しるこ」の２種類の用意がありますが、前者はつぶ餡で、後者はこし餡になっております。定番はつぶ餡ということで、こちらをいただきます。
丹波の大納言小豆を女将が毎朝羽釜で炊き、つきっきりで2時間煮ているのだとか。その結果、濃厚な風味とこってりとした甘いお汁粉に仕上がっております。ここに浮かぶのは焼きたてで香ばしいお餅。やや小ぶりなので、やはり主役は小豆が務めております。ちなみに、きゃらぶきがそっと添えてありますが、この塩気が作るコントラストが好感度が高い。
