Casual French cuisine "LA TERRASSE ZEN Nichibutsu Teahouse" in Kamakura "LA TERRASSE ZEN Nichibutsu Teahouse" is a brasserie located on the premises of the long-established Kamakura Hotel, visible from the platform of Kamakura Station. You can enjoy morning, lunch, dinner, and casual French cuisine in the bright terrace. Monsieur Jean Dreymont, a chic Parisian, greets us with a smile. Monsieur has been in Japan for 40 years and speaks perfect Japanese. He worked for a wine company for many years before retiring to study cooking at Mr. Hattori's school. Madame was not here today, but she comes back on an irregular basis. Monsieur has built this maison by himself, although he has left the roofing and other work to professionals. The dishes are made of Fukagawa porcelain, Noritake from the 1900s, and Kamakura carvings. Morning time. A. Croissant and coffee B. Smoked beef and basil sauce sandwich and coffee C. Croque-monsieur and coffee Croque-monsieur" bread with béchamel sauce, cheese, and Prosciutto. The bread is warmed, the cheese is melted, and you can enjoy it just as it's ready to eat. The combination of these two is a classic, but a surefire way to enjoy this delicious dish. When I asked for coffee with milk, they made me a café latte. The freshly brewed aromatic coffee was also a luxury. I enjoyed talking with Monsieur from start to finish. He is still not well known, so he is going to do his best to advertise. Although it is called "Salon de Thé," it looks like café time is still a long way off, but if you are ever in need of a lunch in front of Kamakura Station, please do not hesitate to stop by. How to get there. 2 minute walk from JR Kamakura Station (West Exit). After exiting the West Exit of Kamakura Station, take the narrowest street on the right behind the post box, walk 20 meters along the railroad tracks, and you will see a blue-colored sign with a white roof. I couldn't find the way along the railroad, so I went around from Kinokuniya (Kinokuniya). (I had to go around from Kinokuniya.)
