Due to the forecast for rain starting the next day, we suddenly decided to take a walk in Oiso. It was already past 12:00 when I arrived at Oiso Station. It seems like there are only Restaurants around the station, so we'll have lunch first. When I went to Shogetsu, a kaiseki restaurant on the right hand side facing the station rotary, I saw a sign saying, ``Today's lunch is full.'' disappointing. Apparently you need a reservation here. The next place we headed was the Oiso Guest House, which was a little further to the left of the rotary. A lovely light blue Western-style building stood behind a magnificent gate. It was built in 1912 in the first year of the Taisho era as a villa for a trader. Enter the door and proceed down the hallway. It's like going outside and entering the next building where Restaurants is. About half of the seats were occupied, but it looks like we won't have to become lunch refugees. The lunch menu included pasta lunch, pizza lunch, special lunch, and course lunch. If there's pasta and pizza, I mostly choose pasta. Because there are fewer failures that way. I chose the pasta lunch as usual, but the waiter recommended I try some mushroom pizza. I knew they were selling wood-fired pizza, and I like mushrooms, so I changed it. First, the soup was brought out. Cabbage potage with grilled Prosciutto chips floating on top. It's quite rich and has a good taste. Next was pizza. I was worried that I would be able to finish the whole thing since it was large for one person, but the service person said I could take it home if I had any leftovers. The mushrooms are shredded king king mushrooms, maitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, and mushrooms and stir-fried with olives. It also has Prosciutto on top and plenty of Parmesan. It was really delicious. It was a good idea to change it to pizza. I did my best to finish the meal. For dessert, we had Chocolate cake and tea to go with it. This set costs 2,650 yen, which is a good value for money. Because it is located on a hill, you can see the Shonan sea below. Since it is a Western-style building, the interior is classic and has a nice atmosphere. The cutlery and tableware were elegant, and the service staff was attentive. Unfortunately, the first person to guide us to a two-seater seat near the entrance instead of by the window even though there were seats available. They said that the window seats were for large numbers of customers, so I thought they had reservations, but since it was already almost 1:00 p.m., no one came until I finished eating. It's unfortunate that you sometimes have to face situations like this. The value of the meal will be different depending on whether you are seated with a view of the ocean or seated near the entrance where the wind blows in and there is a buzz of people coming and going. We want you to take care of even just one customer.
