I got turned away from the restaurant I was looking for in Shinmaruko, and as I was walking around, I saw a beef hot pot with a Showa retro vibe, and it looked interesting, so I decided to go in. I went to a U-shaped counter seat and ordered draft beer, cheese and cucumber chikuwa, and my mother's spring rolls. Chikuwa is great because you can eat both cheese and cucumber. The spring rolls contain vermicelli and have a good flavor, but they absorb too much oil and lose their crispness, which is a waste. The gyu-nabe is simple, with Wagyu beef shoulder loin, tofu, and white onion, but the meat is not sliced thinly but cut for Yakiniku (Grilled meat), and it goes well with finely chopped white onion. I liked this way of eating it. I was satisfied with one dish, so I ordered skirt steak, shirataki, garland chrysanthemum, and white onion. I didn't feel like the skirt steak was really suitable for this hot pot, and the ones I ordered additionally had to be boiled down quite a bit for the flavor to penetrate, so it might be a good idea to eat them slowly. Yakiniku (Grilled meat) is good, but it's also good to drink it while poking beef hotpot. Can be enjoyed by one person or multiple people.
