On this day, I went to Futako-Shinchi again to get some rice crackers. Before going to Kotobuki Senbei, I stopped by Idobata, another cafe that I had been thinking about for a while. After leaving the east exit of Futako-Shinchi Station, go left in the opposite direction from Kotobuki Senbei. The cafe is on the left corner just before the intersection at the entrance to Futako-Shinchi Station. When I arrived there just after 3:30 p.m., there were three women there before me. The cafe staff is two women. You order after you sit down, and you pay afterwards. After sitting down at the counter seat by the window just to the right of the entrance, I looked at the menu book brought by the female staff and ordered the cake of the day, strawberry chiffon for 550 yen and plum smoothie for 660 yen (both including tax). I was also interested in the Dutch baby, which is the specialty of this cafe, but the menu only had a plain mini size, so I gave up on it that day. The strawberry chiffon came out in about five minutes, and the plum smoothie in another ten minutes. The strawberry chiffon cake is a chiffon cake with dried strawberries in the batter, served with strawberry sauce and cream. It's not that big, but the batter is fluffy and quite tasty. The plum smoothie is a yogurt-based smoothie with plum syrup added. It's rich and sweet, with a sticky texture. There weren't many people there that day, so the shop was relaxed and quiet. The antique, general store-style atmosphere was also calming. The staff were also very friendly, and it was a very comfortable shop.
