I wish the food was a step up] My work ally, recording engineer K, is from Yokosuka, his hometown, and there is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) with a great atmosphere that is irresistible to blues fans. That is [b:Mansai Main Store]. It is a corner of a back alley on the way from Yokosuka Chuo Station on the Keikyu Line to Yokosuka Kaido, full of the atmosphere of the Showa era. The texture of the old house, like an old inn, is very nice. In the dark, it is difficult to see the whole picture of the building. It is quite mysterious. The inside of the store is dimly lit, and it is a different space where famous and unknown blues masterpieces are played. We named it ``[b:House of Blues]''. The interior of the store, made of bricks and antique old wood, has old Fender electric guitars hanging on the wall, which really appeals to me. There is a separate room on the second floor with an atrium, where black and white photos of past blues stars are framed and displayed. This hobby is the owner of the shop, and he is a big fan of blues. It's a man's dream to be able to run such a wonderful shop because of his hobby. On this day, the place was very quiet, with only a few customers. The clientele was surprisingly young, and there didn't seem to be many people who were old enough to be immersed in blues. The staff of the shop are also relatively young. I don't know about the kitchen, though. There is a decent selection of drinks. Sake, potato, awamori, barley, wine, etc. Shochu is all 500 yen regardless of brand, which is easy to understand and reasonable. On this day, I had beer, various potato, hot sake, etc., and I ended up spending quite a bit again (I regret it). There are various snacks. There is a wide variety, with a rather random selection. Well, it's mostly Japanese, but there are some creative additions, which makes it quite fun. What I ordered ・[b: Appetizer]... 300 yen. Boiled hijiki (It was just as delicious as usual. The flavor was just right. The subtle sesame is nice.) ・[b: Freshly boiled edamame]... 380 yen. Not in season so not so great. The natural salt was sweet and nice, but the beans are a mystery. They're freshly boiled so they're not frozen, right? ・[b: Salted snapper guts & mascarpone]... 580 yen. This is good (^^) A must-try dish for drinkers, with salted snapper guts that aren't too salty mixed with creamy cheese. Serve on a baguette for a crispy finish. ・[b: Assorted sashimi]... 1,180 yen. Greater amberjack, tuna, flounder, raw octopus. All apparently locally sourced. I guess the freshness was just okay. I've experienced many locally sourced dishes that were much tastier, so I hope they put in a bit more effort to source more. Octopus is probably the best, flounder second.・[b: Steamed clams in sake]…580 yen. Actually, clam butter is a regular menu item, but I asked them to make it for me. I appreciate their flexibility. And it's delicious! The broth with plenty of mitsuba is very good. 4 stars (^^) ・[b: Cod roe udon]…650 yen. I was a little hungry. I like this! It's like a udon version of cod roe spaghetti. It's full of shiso and seaweed, and has a junky taste. ・[b: Ray fin]…420 yen. You grill this yourself, put mayonnaise on it, and eat it with shichimi. It's a great side dish, and it's surprisingly oily. It's not dry. It seems that there are various private rooms and hidden rooms that can accommodate multiple numbers. It might be surprisingly easy to use. Conclusion ・The atmosphere is good and the background music is cool. A relaxing restaurant Ambience 4.0 ・The cost performance is high for both food and alcohol. CP3.6 ・If the overall quality could be improved, including the quality of the fresh fish, Taste3.4 ・The customer service is not bad and they are flexible. Service3.5 Even if it's difficult to ban smoking (it's Blues after all lol), I would like them to at least separate the smoking and non-smoking areas.
