Beijing Hanten, a Chinese Cuisine restaurant founded in 1971, is a 2-minute walk from Yamato Station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line and Sotetsu Line. For some reason, the area around Odakyu/Yamato Station is crowded with many Chinese Cuisine restaurants, and when it comes to long-established Chinese Cuisine restaurants, this Beijing Hanten is famous. At first glance, it may seem expensive, but the price is a little higher than the average price, and the interior is spacious, so you can enjoy your meal in peace. When you enter the store and go up to the second floor, a staff member will guide you to your table. The menu is quite extensive, but it's nice to have some half-menus as well. Here's what I ordered this time:・Large shrimp with chili sauce ・Mapo eggplant ・Oiled chicken ・Gomoku fried rice ・Stir-fried bok choy ・Corn soup ・ Century egg salad A typical one-dish menu serves 2 to 3 people. We recommend visiting with a few people and sharing the food while eating. For shrimp chili, you can choose between large shrimp and small shrimp, but here you'll want to choose large shrimp. The shrimp are large and have a chewy texture, which goes well with the spiciness of the chili sauce. The mapo eggplant is also less spicy. I think even people who don't like spicy food can enjoy this. The flavor is strong, so it's perfect for pairing with rice or as an accompaniment to beer. The Gomoku fried rice is stir-fried to the right degree of crispness, and the seasoning is delicious with just the right amount of salt and plum. And personally, I can't forget the corn soup. Corn soup at Chinese Cuisine is delicious for some reason. I remember that they used to have a cream sauce type, but I didn't see it on the menu, so maybe they've run out of it? Anyway, it's been a long time since I last visited Beijing Hanten, and this time it was delicious.
