While waiting for the traffic light on a street in Yamato that I often walk through, I discovered a new shop. I later found out that it serves Tempura. The shop's name is "Hideho." This is Yamato's Shinbashi-dori shopping district, on the corner of the intersection of Yamato Higashi 1-chome. Looking towards the storefront, there is a sign that says "Akinaichuu" (there is no autumn in spring, summer, or winter). There is no sign of the shop, and a small sign that says "Tempura Hideho" is written on the glass in front of the storefront, so I had never noticed it before. When I entered the shop, there were two customers eating ahead of me. The shop has counter seats and table seats. The shop is run by the owner alone. I sat at the counter seat in the corner and looked at the menu. For lunch, there are Ten-don (tempura rice bowl) and set meals. Since it was my first time at the shop, I ordered a "Ten-don (tempura rice bowl)" for 850 yen. Tea was served afterwards. The shop is widely spread out in the back, and the counter seats are quite spacious. I sat in front of the frying area, so I could see the owner cooking well. After a while, the food was served. The meal consisted of four dishes: the main Ten-don (tempura rice bowl), miso soup, salad, and pickles. The Tempura included two shrimp, peppers, pumpkin, sweet potato, shiitake mushrooms, lion peppers, eggplant, onions, and more. It was quite filling for the price. What's more, it was nice that it included two shrimp. Tempura was not poured over the bowl sauce, but was simply placed in the sauce. The sweet and spicy bowl sauce soaked into the rice just right, making it delicious. The miso soup had fish bones in it, giving it a good flavor. The salad was daikon radish and mizuna. The pickles were cucumber and turnip pickled in cherry blossoms. The bill was paid at the table, so we paid over the counter. 850 yen plus brass tax, making it 930 yen. There were a lot of ingredients in the Tempura, so it was quite a good lunch. See the blog post here ↓ http://blog.livedoor.jp/shibapochi_kazu/archives/52012130.html
