Yesterday, I got through the peak of work safely and went shopping. I saw an Indian Curry restaurant in town, but it wasn't my first choice for the night. The restaurant I was considering was gone, and I was stunned, thinking, "How many times have I been here before...?" as I headed home. Soba... Ramen... set meals... nothing really clicked. I turned off the main road into a side street and looked at a few restaurants, and found an Indian Curry restaurant that wasn't on my list. The owner, who looked like an Indian version of Sylvester Stallone, came out and I was startled for a moment. He was so unfriendly that I wondered if there had been some kind of hell just before I entered the restaurant. The other waiter was eating at a table in the middle of the restaurant. In contrast, he was smiling as he watched TV. I ordered naan, salad, a drink set, and fried chili chicken. I wondered if it was high "de" love? I imagined the fried chili chicken from the photo and waited. First came the salad and strawberry lassi. The salad had the usual Indian Cuisine restaurant dressing, but it was better than others. The lassi was... thin. I was like, "Is this homemade Calpis?" I was like, "Is this homemade Calpis?" The Hydra Badi curry is chicken, cauliflower, potato, and asparagus. The curry itself is spicy. It's not too strong or salty, but it has a strong flavor and you can feel the spices. It's delicious. It's said to be influenced by Mughal cuisine and Persian cuisine from the Islamic dynasty. I heard it contains coconut, but I wonder if it's in there? I don't know (lol). The fried chilli chicken is a spicy chicken sweet and sour pork? It's not sour. It tasted completely different from what I imagined. I kept saying "It's sweet and sour pork? It's spicy, it's sweet and sour pork?" until I finished eating. There were some strange dishes, but the curry was really delicious.
